Wildfires, floods, ginormous power blackout... This year again, European local communities are being affected by natural or man-made catastrophes that require prompt and well-coordinated responses
|
|
|
|
from local authorities. How to better prepare and strengthen our resilience? This is a pressing question for public authorities, local and otherwise, as evidenced in the new EU Preparedness Union Strategy to prevent and react to emerging threats and crises. In response to our members' concerns, we are stepping up efforts to garner and share knowledge and local practices, notably through EU-funded projects such as SPARROW (disaster preparedness and resilience) and the soon-to-be-launched DARE (cross-border crisis cooperation).
