When networking among European cities creates safer urban public spaces
Making urban public spaces safer is a key priority for local and regional authorities across Europe. It is also a difficult challenge because of their openness and ease of access. Direct exchanges of know-how, practices and experience among local and regional authority professionals and other security actors, such as local police forces, is one way of improving safety and security. This was the purpose of the two-year, EU-funded PACTESUR2 project, which held its final conference in Gdańsk (Poland) in June (photo).
