It was great seeing you at the General Assembly meeting in Liège
We can't get enough of you! After our Security, Democracy and Cities conference in Brussels in March, we were happy to see many of our members at Efus' General Assembly meeting, hosted by the city of Liège on 25 June. As we do each year, we reviewed the activities carried out in the previous 18 months, approved the budget and outlined the main projects for 2025. In particular, Efus is a partner in two new EU-funded projects starting in September, one on community policing and the other on disaster resilience. We also renewed by a third our Executive Committee. We welcome Madrid (Spain), Strasbourg (France) and Tampere (Finland) as our newest EC members.

Workshop on emergency response at the port of Liège
A partner in PACTESUR 2, the city of Liège has chosen to work on drawing up a comprehensive

emergency and intervention plan to respond to a terrorist threat against the oil port of Liège Wandre. One of the characteristics of this port on the Meuse River is that it hosts a number of private companies that are Seveso classified, meaning they handle hazardous substances that could cause a major industrial accident. Liège's objectives through PACTESUR 2 are to better coordinate all the public and private actors that would intervene in case of a terrorist attack, to train first responders in the port's specificities and to better ensure their physical protection.
