Efus renews a third of its Executive Committee during its 2022 General Assembly meeting

In accordance with Efus’ statutes, four cities have been elected new members of the Executive Committee during the 2022 General Assembly meeting held in Riga, on 12 May. These are Bologna (Italy), Bordeaux (France), Meyrin (Switzerland), and Toulouse Métropole (France). The Cities of Düsseldorf (Germany), Gdansk (Poland), Lisbon (Portugal), Nice (France), Riga (Latvia) and Zaragoza (Spain) were re-elected. | | | |

Drugs: Brussels opens a supervised consumption room

As part of an approach to drugs based on harm reduction, and resulting from years of preparatory work by the City of Brussels with the support of the Brussels Capital Region, the Gate Supervised Drug Consumption Facility (SDCF) opened on 5 May in Brussels. The Brussels authorities were inspired in part by the Efus-led SOLIDIFY project, in which they were partners. Belgium now has two SDCFs, after the opening, in 2018, of the Liège facility.
