Gathering various crime prevention and security stakeholders from all over Europe, the conference focused on how we can better anticipate and respond to security threats in public spaces, and the challenges and tools available to promote citizens' participation in securing and managing public spaces.
It also offered an interesting angle on the challenges linked to monitoring and evaluating safety and crime prevention in public spaces with an introduction to the Urban Safety Monitor and a Global Goals perspective.

Building a common culture of the security of public spaces
Through the Secu4All project, Efus and its partners contributed to reinforcing the capacities of local stakeholders involved in the management of public spaces who are as diverse as are their competences and the risks and threats likely to impact public spaces.

A growing network: 24 new members in 2022-23
Efus members gathered in Mannheim for the network's General Assembly to review last year's activities and set the priority work areas for the medium term. We are delighted to have welcomed 24 new member cities and regions (including from new countries!) in our network between June 2022 and June 2023!
Another highlight was the election of Efus' Executive Committee. Congratulations to the reelected members and a warm welcome to two new members: the city of Gyöngyös (Hungary) and the Brussels-Capital Region (Belgium)!
